Chesapeake Shakespeare Company offers two unique and historic spaces in downtown Baltimore for your special event.
Our Historic Theatre
Located at 7 South Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD.
In 2014, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company transformed a landmark bank building into a 265-seat modern Globe-style Shakespearean theatre. An award-winning architectural gem, this Romanesque Revival building was built in 1885 for the Mercantile Trust & Deposit Company. This building survived the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. The intricately carved brownstone and brick building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Just two blocks north of the Inner Harbor, the building at Calvert and Redwood Streets features many of the building’s existing historic architectural elements including the ornately carved coffered ceiling and Corinthian columns.
The Studio
Located at 206 East Redwood Street 4th Floor.
Beautiful space in the historic Merchants Club building. Dating to 1905, the building is located two blocks north of the Inner Harbor next to the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company theatre at Redwood and Calvert Streets.
